  A celebration of beauty in diverse musical cultures
The Rowena Ferguson Memorial Piano Competition, is open to dedicated pianists of all ages, nationalities, and musical backgrounds — prizes being awarded for outstanding solo piano performance. Without overlooking technique, emphasis will be placed on aspects such as beauty and passion, spiritual and emotional commitment, and the magic of performer-audience synergy. As a result, a framework is established, in which pianists of diverse musical backgrounds can compete side by side. As well as pianists who draw from the Classical / Romantic / Contemporary concert repertoire, pianists steeped in a Jazz, Folk, or non-Western tradition are encouraged to apply. Pianists performing their own composed and/or improvised work, are also welcome.
  Eligibility: Open to pianists of all ages, nationalities, and musical backgrounds.
  Repertoire: Solo piano music of all periods and cultures.
  Restriction: Works must be performed on solo piano.
No other instrumentation will be considered.
