Results 1999
  Results of the 1st Rowena Ferguson Memorial Piano Competition, held at St. Bernard's Church, Stockbridge, Edinburgh on May 1-2, 1999, were as follows:
 
    Winner . . . . . . Natasa Srdic (Yugoslav national - Serbia)  
    Runner up . . . . Alice Demske (USA national - Texas)  
 
 

The winner received a silver trophy plus £500. The runner up £250.
All six finalists received photographs of their performance.
All competitors received a CD featuring highlights of the competition.
Concert engagements for the winners are being finalised.
The adjudicators were John Clegg, Graham Hair, Mary McCarthy and Nicholas Hind (chairman).
The general standard was very high (beyond expectations), and finalists Joseph Long, Christina Lawrie, and Jill Morton all delivered outstanding performances in both preliminary and final rounds.
A triennial event, the next Rowena Ferguson Memorial Piano Competition will take place on April 27-28, 2002.
